INTELLIGENT SOLUTIONS

               Traditional Thinking and Education

  Looking Backwards

We naturally think based on experience, mostly facing the past. Even though we progress slowly and believe we are progressing, we are mostly using (sub-consciously) the values and traditions of the past as guides. So the overriding tendency is to look backwards, often unconsciously, as a base for thinking and action. Looking backwards, we keep things as they are. This backwards thinking is developed and encouraged by current education, with its obsessions with history, and originated historically by ecclesiastics, to implement security and entrench authority.

                   Supplementary New Idea Thinking

                                    Developing New Directions Simply . . .

One liberating effect of the training is the immediate and direct result of using specific thinking codes, which direct our attention forwards. By using the codes, we consciously create directions into the future. These new directions and routes are in the form of specific alternative ideas directly created from the codes. The codes (tools) free us from the past since they generate steps into the future. We still use our experience but now consciously using codes, developing skill and triggering new experiences, we are no longer locked in to the past. Some of the codes generate ideas, some show the future, some reveal values; then there are many more codes for other people’s views, creativity, etc.

Training produces a wide repertoire of thinking tools, that are permanently, consciously, on tap. We are now in a position to strengthen and clarify our thinking and action with a choice of directions rather than being locked into one position. The generation of alternatives and ideas, simply, needs some training because the codes base on the logic of perception. Ordinary logic is insufficient.

Besides our obsessions with history we have the consuming passion for complexity. We believe something cannot have value unless it is highly complex. While it’s true that life is at times complex, the codes simplify complexity, relieve stress, and clarify objectives. They are, therefore, not a luxury, but an essential addition to traditional thinking.

The thinking codes and tools are as essential as language. However, while language often only describes complexity, the codes direct simple clear action steps, which are directly and easily understood by everybody concerned.
